Pic's of new skink - Irian Jaya?

btorgy Sep 12, 2003 03:16 PM

Okay, here are the pics of Stub. He has a lot of yellow on his back. Note his poor feet. But he has a great appetite and nice solid stools! He only weighs 212 grams, and is at least 2 years old. Do you think he can catch up or at least get close to where he should be? And, by the way, what is the average weight and length for this species?
Thanks.
Beth

Note the enlarged scales around his mouth. Does this mean anything?

He really loves those sweet potato's and green beans! Also the ground up chicken necks. I believe he was raised mostly on pinkies and fruit, so I'm glad to see him willing to eat vegies.

Hi Beth
He's lovely. Others would have more idea than I whether he will ever 'catch up' in size. Glad he's in better hands now.

Looks a lot like my Irian Jaya, but my Irian's front legs are completely black. Also, the BTS at my college has the same body pattern, but has only a small amount of blue on the tongue, situated at the tip.

There is a huge diversity of patterns in Irian Jayas, and as it definetly doesn't fit any other BTS body pattern, i'd say it was an IJ.
