New Lavender Albino Retic

dragonmwt Apr 18, 2009 10:52 PM

I just got my first Retic. Bought a Lavender Albino Retic today at our reptile show. I am very happy and am glad that I bought it. I have owned many Burmese and Redtail Boas but they are nothing like this. I also want to take a minute to say hello. I am new to Kingsnake.com Forum. So hello everyone!

Thank you. I noticed that they are different. It seems like they have an intellegence. The one that I have seems very aware of its surroundings. When I am in the room it is watching me all the time. When I take it out it is also very active. The guy I got it from did tell me to be very careful when I feed it. He said this one is a more agressive eater than any other that he has had. I plan on feeding in the cage with long tongs and hook training it. What do you guys think. Is this a good idea? It is what I always do with all but one Burm that I have. The one I have to feed outside the cage because it wont eat if it is not in the total dark sometimes.

I agree with feeding inside the cage F/T rats with long tongs... This has worked for us really well..

Also hook training is a good way to go once they get big enough...
