Lavender Albino Retic Size

dragonmwt Apr 19, 2009 07:09 PM

I just got my Lavender Albino Retic this weekend. I am used to Burmese Pythons. Anyway this guy is supposed to be a year old but he seems small to me. Just curious about the normal size of a healthy 1 yr old retic. This one is about 6-7ft and maybe 2" IN diameter. It looks and acts healthy and alert but looks a little small to me. What do you think? If it is small then I would like to know so that I can up the food intake for a bit but if it is healthy and good on size I will keep it the way the guy has been feeding it. He said he is feeding 2 Med rats a week. I feed my small Burms 2 small rats a week and they are only 4-5 months old. Any help would be great. Thanks

if its a male and about a yr old that sounds about right for growth wise. i have a lil over a yr tiger who is jus a lil over 7 and has maybe a 3 in diameter at his thickest.

Thanks. For some reason I expected the retic to be bigger than that at a year. My female Burms are right on his heels in length at 6-7months old. Of course they are thinner than him. Thanks for the info. Knowing that the size sounds about right makes me feel better. I try to take excellent care of my snakes and tend to ask lots of questions when I get a new type that I am not very familiar with.
