Are they basically just like mangrove monitors in their behavior only they cost more? I guess I am one of the rare ones that likes the looks of the mangroves better but alot have told me not to bother with this species.

I'm no expert, but I've spent enough time with my friend/brother Stefani over the years to learn a few things.
Peachthroats are a medium size moniotr that do well in tall cages. They use the branches and elevated platforms as much, if not more than the cage bottom; they also like elevated hides/boxes.

Mangroves also have the potential to get much larger than peach throats and, from what I understand are more nervous and flighty.
