glass exposed

garth_905 Apr 20, 2009 07:44 PM

I know I have already asked about digging...but this time I noticed Garth (my bearded dragon)almost had the entire glass on the bottom of the tank exposed. Is that anything to be concerned about? ( I put the substrate back over the tank)

Thanks.

You might wanna check the temperature of the tank because he might be trying to burrow in order to keep cool. The cool side of the tank should be between 65-75 degrees and the hot side about 75-90(not basking temp). What did you mean by you put the substrate back over the tank?

i think he meant he filled in the hole the beardie made. If your temps are fine just fill the hole back in unless your beardie is laying in the hole it made. Its ok that the glass is showing not a big deal. Beardies like to dig so this is all good.

Two years ago I had a male hatchling, and all he ever did was dig. I don't put mine on sand until 12". He dug so much that he wore his nails down to his fingers. I renamed him Digger. Today he doesn't do that anymore. I guess he realized it was a myth that he could dig to China or Australia for that matter.
