Help with triple het genetics, please.

phred136 Apr 20, 2009 10:26 PM

I know this is probably an easy question if I would just apply myself with the "genetics wizard" but the darn thing just makes me want to pull my hair out. I think i've mapped out just about every other genetic combination except for this one...
Anery het albino x Hypo het anery, het albino.
It seems that most of the posts are for DH Sunglow or DH snow, not the triple het. I suppose at the same time I should reverse the male just for curiositys sake.
Albino het anery x Hypo het anery, het albino
Thanks for any help!

but big wigs please correct me if I am wrong:

1/16 (6.25%) Hypo Anery Albino (Moonglow)
2/16 (12.5%) Hypo Anery het Albino (Ghost het Albino)
1/16 Hypo Anery (Ghost)
1/16 Hypo Albino het Anery (Sunglow het Anery)
2/16 Hypo het Anery het Albino (Triple het Moonglow)
1/16 Hypo het Anery (DH Ghost)
1/16 Anery Albino (Snow)
2/16 Anery het Albino
1/16 Anery
1/16 Albino het Anery
2/16 het Anery het Albino (DH Snow)
1/16 het Anery

Genetics of these reptiles is what amazes me!!!!!

Only mod I'd make is to combine het albino and normal as you can't tell the difference and they would all be "pos het Albino"

For example one of your groups of three (different Albino outcomes)
1/16 Anery Albino (Snow)
2/16 Anery het Albino
1/16 Anery

would be...
1/16 Anery Albino (Snow)
3/16 Anery pos het Albino

Easy, seperate the three morphs and outcomes....

Albino het anery x Hypo het anery, het albino

Albino x het Albino = 1/2 Albino, 1/2 het Albino

Het Anery x het Anery = 1/4 Anery, 3/4 Pos het Anery (66%)

Normal x Hypo = 1/2 Hypo, 1/2 Normal

To know how many pos phenotypes multiply the 3 of phenotypes of each morph. In this case 2 x 2 x 2 = 8

Then to figure the odds on any one outcome simply multiply the fractions of each morph.

Hypo, Albino, Anery (Moonglow) = 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 = 1 x 1 x 1 / 2 x 2 x 4 = 1/16

Hypo, Albino, pos het Anery (Sunglow pos het Anery) = 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/16

Hypo, het Albino, Anery (Ghost het Moonglow) = 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/16

Hypo, het Albino, pos het Anery (DH Sunglow pos TH moonglow) = 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/16

Normal, Albino, Anery (Snow) = 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/16

Normal, Albino, pos het Anery (Albino pos het Anery) 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/16

Normal, het Albino, Anery (Anery het Snow) 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/16

Normal, het Albino, pos het Anery (Het Albino pos het Anery) 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/4 = 3/16

To reverse the results for the other male (Anery het Albino) simply swap Albino and Anery in each of the results.
