t + albino nelsoni getting busy!

shannon brown Apr 21, 2009 09:59 AM

Well, he has done the job on the first of 5 or 6 girls I have lined up for him.Only time will tell but should be very interesting to see what comes out this year with this guy.He is the only t+ in the country and his t+ gene is co-dom and he is also het amel to boot.
This female is one of my line aberrants ( from wayyyyyyy back)and she is also het for amel and the aberrant gene she has is co-dom.

He is also working on a splotched,a couple amels,a couple paternless (or v.p. or whatever you want to call them)and a possible double het for amel and hypoerythristic.

7 girls may be a bit to much but I will be hapy if 3-4 of them give me good eggs.

What did you use to make the holes in the box? They look so nice. A stepped drill bit perhaps? Awesome snake too.

Thanks Mark,
Soldering iron from radio shack. It works killer on hard plastic or even the soft rubbermaids and even deli cups.Leaves both sides smooth.I think I did that about 12-15 years ago.Wish we could still get those phillips one's boxes. They where the best.I am glad I got as many as I did way back when.

I agree, those boxes are the best.

I found a Cambro box more recently that is phenominal but lacks a lid. Have to make your own lid if you want to use lids - too time-consuming and not secure for squirrely little milks and such, fine for bigger hatchlings like pituophis.

Here is a link for another clear type (what I think is acrylic) box. I haven't ordered any yet, so I can't comment on how good they are. Probably thinner material than the good old Phillips boxes. Price is right though.

The Pioneer boxes on the link I supplied are FDA-approved polystyrene. They are strong enough to hold liquids. I've ordered the roughly 11 x 9 x 4 size, can't wait to see how they perform.

I bet when placed over heat when the air is cold, they may develop those small stress cracks, but so do the Wilson boxes in many cases, and they perform just fine in that condition for many many years, so I'll risk it.

Seven females with one male?? You better start searching for reptilian viagra or add something special to your feeder rodents.
I tried 4 females with one male a while back and he didn't pass the rabbit test.
