peta has renamed "fish"... yup, we are to refer to them as sea kittens from now on.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I can think of a few new names to call the people behind PETA though.

All kinds of 'catfish' have been on our tables, I have no problems eating 'seakittens' either. Whatever they are called, will still eat them. Besides, children just think of them as cartoons, not like children have stopped eating fish after watching 'Finding Nemoy' and other cartoons with fish and animals in it.

I guess if the peta people are going to call fish "sea kittens" then maybe they should call themselves "dee-d-dee". Those that have ever seen/watched Carlos Mencia the comedian will understand!!!

That doesn't bother PETA at all.

The fact that this is even being discussed is a victory for the mediawh0res who run PETA.

PETA puts out stupid press releases just to make the news.

Factor in a half dozen 24hour news channels desperate to fill time, and PETA gets to sound off every 30-60 minutes on CNN...

Or CNN Headline News...
Or Fox News...
Or CBC Newsworld (Canada)...
Or CTV Newsnet (Canada as well)....
Or BBC World News...

And your local TV stations grab onto the story.

And print media is desperate for revenue right now, so they will print anything that is 'buzz worthy' to try and remain relevant.

The only good reaction to a PETA story is no reaction at all.

Now mind you, I am not a member of PETA, but I DO think that ocean bottom trawling is horribly inefficient and wastes a LOT of fish. This thought process was independent of their video, though.

And I don't think naming the victims "Sea kittens" is going to help the situation at all.
