Probing Juveniles

BrianS. Apr 21, 2009 09:57 PM

So I have 6 juveniles that I kept from a very late '07 clutch (December). I hadn't bothered to sex them yet because I knew I was keeping them all, they are all poss. Het Albino.

So of course tonight I probe and get easy answers on 4 of them. On the other two I go 6 MAYBE 7 scales. I lean toward males when this happens, but if I were selling them I'd be hesitant and have to mention this to anyone interested.

I'm wondering what sex everyone else would say in this situation?

If you know what you're doing it should be clear as day females will barely go in males goes way in. The two that went 6-7 I would call males the ones the others at this time I would call females. If you are still not sure probe them a few times and probe both sides of the cloaca if it barely goes in it is a girl.

probing sucks usually....all snakes tend to go 6 or 7...are they male? are they female?...different species are different at 6 or 7....emale balls go 6 alot....

...popping.....I /we cans ee what we got.....

know how to pop before you try or trust people that think they can do it.....I have purchased many ! male and female snakes over the years that were not what they were supossed to be....and they were sold to me by 30 year veterans of the reptile trade.....at times....cups or tanks get switched by mistake....happens at shows more than you want it to....
