Flies in crickets...

Kuitsuku Apr 22, 2009 08:01 PM

Just recently there has been a burst of small brown flies in my cricket containers. I had fully cleaned and bleached my containers before buying a new batch of 50 crickets, and then the flies returned with those. I just cleaned one of my cricket cages today to get rid of the flies in it, and 3 hours later they were all back! I'm not sure if they're growing off the crickets or just...somewhere else. I get my crickets from a Petco that I've been visiting every week for almost a year and this is the first time it's happened.
What should I do in this situation? Should I still be feeding the crickets to my animals?

When walking on a surface do the flies move with a jerky motion?
