How to carefully pick up eggs for EBT

Hi
My female EBT mated about 5 weeks ago. Now she is carrying 3 eggs(found this from the x ray photo). I am going to prepare all the needed things for her. One thing I am not quite sure how to do:
If I dig/pick up the eggs "right after" she lays(I will move the eggs to the incubator), do I have to be very careful and not to rotate the eggs at all? I will try my best and keep the eggs at the same positions during the moving. But if my hand shakes a bit, will that affect the eggs? And how thick is the soil(for her to lay eggs)?
