Favorite King

paulbuck Apr 24, 2009 12:07 PM

Well..., kind of. My favorite would have to be his father but I'm really fond of this guy. Last year was my first ever clutch of Kingsnake eggs and I had to keep one. I chose this fella because he was the biggest from the clutch and the calmest. Out of the egg never rattled his tail or struck. Calm, confident, a very, very cool snake. Took him outside today for a photo shoot. Thought I'd share:

Paul

Funny you mentioned that about some Florida kings being calm. I have some out of the egg that are calm and some that are the complete opposite (spastic warriors). I have one like yours that is a favorite . He acts like he is on muscle relaxers all the time.

Ya they all grow out of it once they get a little bigger (usually about a year old), but some are coool from the beginning.

Definitely had the spastic warriors in the bunch. The calm, confident ones are special I think. But when its time for chow, watch out!
Thanks,
Paul
