As some here know, I really like Kingsnakes. Last year was my first year of having a clutch and I had to keep one for myself. This guy was the largest and calmest of the clutch and has turned out to be an awesome snake. His dad is my all-time favorite snake but this guy is becoming a favorite. Took him out in the morning sun for some pics and thought I'd share:

Thanks,
Paul

Wow, that's a neat looking kingsnake. What species/subspecies is it? So the father is even nicer??? I think you need to post some more OT pics!

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks Ed,
The father is just the coolest snake I've ever had (yeah, I know, no Indigo yet). These are Florida Kingsnakes (L. g. floridana) which used to be known as Brook's Kingsnake. They are great pet snakes. The female is even more bright yellow and is a VERY mellow snake; I really like her also.
Here's a pic of Shiva (formerly known as Edgar until my wife renamed him):

and a pic of Maya laying her clutch last year:

Paul,

Awesome, thanks for the pics. I guess the conclusion here is that OT snakes from Florida that eat other snakes are super pets.

Thanks,
Ed
