My 5-year old son Cam has officially caught his first snake! On the way back from releasing a big gulf coast ribbon snake that a neighbor did NOT want living in/around the pond in front of her house, Cam spotted this little Checkered Garter motoring right in front of us!

Verry cool, Todd! It looks like your son had a good time, he looks pretty excited about catching his 1st snake.

Great to see a new generation of Herpers come along. Your son seems very excited with his new find. He is the reason we must fight to keep our right to keep Herps in the US. If we don't fight this new bill we must do it for the youngsters. It keeps them out of trouble and drugs which is a growing problem. Let's all stick together on this. Apathy will destroy our hobby so let's get moving.

Way to go, Cam!!

Herping with your kids is pretty much the most fun you can have. I brainwashed my three, and now I'm working on my grandkids. As soon as they lose the diapers, we'r going out. I can't wait!!

Thanks guys- can't WAIT until he's old enough and his attention span can hold out for a weekend trip out west and down south!
