I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all who participated in our recent battle against HR 669.

Thank you to those who took on the mantle of leadership and guided us into and through this battle and hopefully will continue to lead us in the battles to come.

Thank you to the legions of warriors who sent emails, wrote letters, made phone calls, organized letter drives and did whatever needed to be done to let Washington know, "We're not going to take this lying down! We are willing to fight for our rights!"

I'm with you Louis - sometimes down in the trenches, each of us doing our thing with these amazing critters, we tend to forget just how big this hobby/passion/business/obsession has become - it's wonderful to know that we have such an army of fellow snake nuts, reptile nuts, animal nuts - who are willing to stand up and be counted. Political power is about numbers and money... it's great to see that we using ours! YEAH TEAM!!!

i've noticed that people who keep snakes for long periods of time always have two qualities - they are serious experts in their hobby and they are advocates for herps. being that we keep and love probably the most feared and hated animals on the planet, we live a life of fighting and educating misguided ignorant people who'd have us feel as outcasts while they go home and feed their fish or parakeet and spin tales of the crazy snake person down the street.

as we all know, the prejudice is thousands of years old... so how can we not be fighters who are just so sick of the bullsh$t and those who propogate it.

now if we can just keep this going.
