Ok- why isn't she eating?

zimbabwepegasus Apr 26, 2009 12:35 AM

So Mira's decided to forego her meals for the last 2 weeks.
She's about 8 months old, been a great eater up till this.
She's in a sweater box.
UTH on a herpstat at 78 (temp gun confirmed).
I admit, I don't have a humidity gauge, but her enclosure has very nice condensation. Her sheds have all been perfect.
She's not looking remotely blue. She's still the sweetheart she's always been.

I know 2 weeks isn't a big deal; it's just not like her. And I'm paranoid.

Any thoughts?

Hey Kerry,

Hmmmm, like you said, a couple of meals is not a big deal. However, it could be something more serious if it continues.

Have you palpated her? Feeling for odd lumps etc. Maybe impacted?

Other questions that come to mind are....

What has changed? I mean beside the not eating. moved her, new food source? New traffic pattern in the house etc.

Also, what are you feeding her? Mine are all still on large hoppers. How much does she now weigh?

Hmm... I'll have to find out how much she weighs. She's on hoppers. Been downin' them like a champ.

I'm not sure how much she weighs, I can find out tomorrow.

Nothing has changed. That's why I'm freakin' a little. Food comes from the same source it always has and they breed in house. I moved the beginning of January, but her cage has been in the same spot with the same surroundings since then.

I'll take her out more tomorrow and see if I can't find anything strange; but nothing super noticeable. She's handled pretty reguarly.
