Red/Yellow Ackiess

zacha Apr 26, 2009 04:54 PM

Hey, im new to this forum, ive been looking at posts for a while now, and im zach. ive had a dumerils monitor for 4 years but just recently died.=[ Now im looking in to possibly getting a trio of Ackie monitors. A few questions i have is are there any major differences between the two besides coloring and price, also is there like a breeding "season" for ackies because ive seen alot of them on KS classifieds some times, then none other times, whats up with that?

Ackies are fantastic. Yellows are generally cheaper than Reds and there is no specific season babies are available sporaticaly during the year.

Please do your homework on the colors that ackies are able to exhibit, far to many individuals markets their ackies as this or that and they are misleading people.

Only buy from those who are willing to provide referances and watch out for the Western Union/Money Order scams going around.

Goodluck,
Mike.

There are alot of people trying to market any yellow ackies that have a reddish color as pure reds.
The reason you dont see many posted is that most well known breeders have no need to post as their animals are basically sold out before they hatch.

Bryan is correct, most of the good breeders do not post their animals for sale as they are already sold, so when responding to any classifieds, use caution.

Cheers.
Mike.

Who would some of those breeders be? i know about pro exotics and that they are big time ackie breeders.

SpyderPB6 Apr 26, 2009 08:01 PM

Pro Exotics yes, however most of your Ackie Breeders are simply private individuals. You will find out most for yourself by simply researching this forum.

If you would like more information feel free to email me and I will give you a few names of some individuals you can trust.

Thanks,
Mike.
