Greetings, I have not been hearing much about these guys lately. Has anyone kept up with keeping as well as breeding these (especially easterns) on a regular basis? Anyone have some pics of these to post as well?

Several people keep and breed fox snakes. I mostly just like to see them in the field and take photos. They are protected in Michigan, as well as their habitat, supposedly, and in Ohio, I believe. I'm not sure why more people don't want to keep this interesting snake, except that they do have a very short active season.
Here's a few pics of one I saw while studying Butler's garter snakes near Lake Erie. It's an Eastern fox snake, old male, and probably in the shed cycle....

I keep and breed westerns. In fact I just had a whole clutch of 11 hatch out this weekend.
