need some advice with my Burmese

benny333 Apr 27, 2009 10:53 PM

Hello there
I'm having my first Albino Burmese python. During it's first shed in my hand, I noticed that it's not shedding very well, so I spray it and keep the humidity level high hoping it would help. But now the way its skin appears is like the humidity is way too high. Here is a photo of it. Still the fist shed isn't complete, still some left overs. Does any one have any advice what I should do about it.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I would keep the humidity norm. and just give the snake a long bath and a peice of driftwood or something in cage to rub against. after a long soak tho any left over shed should wipe right off pretty easy in your hand without pulling.

Hey!!! That's what I was going to say, LOL!

Seriously, like Mike said, it's best to keep the humidity at a constant normal so you don't get scale rot/blister disease and such. If you have shed issues, take the snake out and soak it. I'd keep an eye on it and watch the skin as it heals, keeping the cage really clean in the meantime.

I agree. Make sure that the water you soak the snake in is warm (not hot and not cold).

Thanks Guys. I'll do as suggest. I'm looking forward to take a nice photo of her once she recovers and share with everyone. Though I know an albino might just not to be much to look at for some, but hey, it's my first~~~
Thanks again to you all.

Benny
