Jungle jags??

gregsofla Apr 27, 2009 10:55 PM

i have a question on how to produce jungle jaguars. I just want to know what two types you need, i know if you breed two jag siblings or two jaguars you can get jaguar babies, but can you produce them from just a normal jungle carpet to a sibling or a jungle carpet to a jaguar??

thanks greg

Jaguar Siblings bred to each other, cannot produce Jaguars. They are nothing more than normal siblings. Only Jaguars bred to any type of carpet will produce more jaguars. To get jungle jags, you would bred a Jungle carpet to A Jaguar, which will produce half Siblings, and half junglejags. The problem is, the jaguar morph is a Coastal carpet mutation, to when bred to a Jungle, the babies, jaguar or not..and 50% jungle blood, and 50% coastal blood...making them mutts esentially. If you take these jaguars, and breed them back to pure jungles, you will get higher percentages of jungle blood ie 75%jungle jags...88% jungle jags...94% jungle jags....97% jungle jags...Did that make sense?

yeah thanks alot, but on the classifieds there are people selling jaguar siblings as a pair and saying that if you breed them together you can make jaguars, thats why i was confused.

People Don't know what there talking about, you cannot have a het or possible het anything for a co-dom gene!

Most of us carpet people have dropped the terms red hypos and Jag sibs, some still refer to them as jag sibs so you know, but it can be very confusing, If you want some real quality jags theres lot of places they can be found!

Also may I ask why you want to cross Mcdowelli and Cheynei knowingly? The jungle jags all tip out and dont look how youd imagine....still good but nothing like when there babies.

i can point you in a better direction if youd like to pm/email me.
