Incubation period for bull eggs?

BigHairy8s Apr 28, 2009 01:03 PM

Hi all. I'm new here on the forums. I have had great luck breeding kings and milks. This is my first year with bullsnakes. I have a very nice Kingsville red female I crossed with a Stillwater hypo from Rick Blairs line. What is the average incubation period for Bulls? Thanks in advance. Rich

P.s. I hope your surgery went well Jeremy. Nice bull!

Thanks for the well wishes Rich. Nice pair you've got there. Typically it is between 55 and 65 days for me. This can vary due to temperature. The cooler your temps the longer it will take. I would rather have cooler temps than too warm, but obviously avoid extremes either way. I typically let mine incubate on a shelf in the snake room at around 78 degrees. Good luck to you and take care!

I second the comments above. Here in MT, the animals typically lay in mid to late June with hatchlings appearing in late August to mid September.

Nice king. Where in Mt are you? Where did you go milk snake hunting? By the way, it's day 56 and the first bull poked it's nose out this morning! Thanks for the responses, guy's! Rich

I'm in Billings. I take it you are also here? There are only a small number of us in the area, and most of us know one another. Perhaps we've met? You have e-mail.

I herp all over the state, really.

Obviously your breeding of the bulls panned out in spades! Got two of the beautiful babies to prove it!
