Sporadic feeding...driving me crazy!

domingos Apr 28, 2009 06:39 PM

My juvenile hog has "awoken" from his winter nap and will take a pinky one week, miss a couple of weeks "with a hissy fit" and then eats once again. Is his aggressiveness associated with this time of year? I figure as long as he is eating once in a while, things are okay. Temps are right and I haven't disturbed him too much. I find that when he is fed when burrowed, he will not eat (he is removed from the enclosure and placed in a deli cup). When soaking the heat up out in the open, he will readily eat when placed in the deli cup. I figure its just his disposition.

If he is burrowed, don't offer food. Simple as that.
