Help with probe placement for Vision...

Ruben14 Apr 28, 2009 08:58 PM

I had a question for those of you that use Vision baby racks. Where is the best place to put the probe for the most accurate heat readings? Like what level and how to attach the probe would help a lot. My rack is the 18 level model. Any pictures would also be a huge help. Also, where do you guys mount your thermostat units on the actual rack. I bought a Helix dbs 1000 for it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I had problems with my vision heating on a BP rack and got help from vision, KS forum, by moving probe about 2" away from cable heat source. Probe is placed midway up the rack. You have to experiment with placement till temps are just right. You will always have temp variants on top and bottom of a few degrees.
If your room is in the high 60's or low 70's this won't be a problem. If it's colder you may want to increase heat so it evens out top and bottom. A more expensive solution is to have two thermostats; one for the upper half, one for the lower. The probe must be halfway in any case. This method works best for my situation.
