Just a few pictures

jason Apr 29, 2009 06:07 PM

Just wanted to post a few pictures of this odd male I've had for quite a few years now. I can't really capture his irridescence in the photos, but he always looks like he's been polished compared to all my other balls. Just something with a different look I have floating around in the collection.

He's the only one I've personally seen with the banding across the neck and the spots on the cheeks, though I'm sure there are others out there I haven't seen. He also doesn't photograph well-he never has. I'm not saying he's genetic, he just looks a little "off" in person (at least compared to others I've seen) so I kinda like him.

I like the neck/head pattern! It's worth a "dinker" project!

As soon as I have an extra female that's not committed to one of my proven morphs, I'll breed him and see if anything odd hatches.

I think you're right, the head and cheeks do look interesting (I went down and got my normal male to compare). Even if he doesn't prove out I'd have to say that is a handsome normal.

I think he is very pretty. Definitely different. But than again, I think you've been in the hobby too long, or are in it for the wrong reasons if you can no longer appreciate a stand-out normal.
