Davis Mountain bairdi female lays 9

antelope May 01, 2009 03:19 AM

The Davis mountain pair of bairdi I got from Toby Brock from Troy Hibbits' line laid 9 eggs today, 8 look good one looks iffy, great clutch for a first time girl! my camera is broken right now, worst thing in the life of a field herper/breeder. I am looking into a cheap replacement till the other gets repaired. First eggs of the season down, expected the Mexican bairdi first, so any day for her.

whoo whoo
congrats Todd
good luck with all of them.
Eight is a good respectable number, especially for her first clutch.
We might have to talk about those Mexicans when they lay.

No, in my excitement I miscounted the first time, when I showed my wife she corrected the error!

I really like the variability of this species, I have four locales each a bit different in shading, and the Mexicans lose the stripes. The dark western ones are quite striking in their own way.
