Update on '08 Pick-ups & more...

JJsBoas May 01, 2009 12:24 PM

Hello everyone,

No new boa babies to play with yet, so I thought I’d post some current pics of a couple boas I picked up and/or produced last year.

First up, one of my “pride & joys,” a current pic of my ’08 female Pastel Hypo Motley Het Anery (aka Pastel TH Motley Ghost) or whatever you want to call her. You get the idea of the wonderful genetics this gal has. She was produced by Dave Colling of Rainbows-R-Us. She’s coming along really nicely. No rush on this one, she’s growing up nice and slow just how I like.

Next up is another product of Mr. Colling. A recent pic of my ’08 male Pastel Summit Salmon, from Dave’s “Reese’s Pieces” litter last year. Although my camera skills don’t do this guy any justice, he is by far one of the MOST colorful boas I have. He is simply outstanding in color and gets better and better. Even my girlfriend noticed how colorful and “pretty” he was.

I also picked up a nice group of Jungles last year from different breeders to pair up some unrelated bloodlines in a couple years. The pics of the ’08 group didn’t come out so nice, but here is the ’07 pair of Jungles that I picked up from Class Reptilia. Big thanks to Ron and Kyle.

Here’s the Male:

Here’s the Female:

Lastly, here are a couple boas I produced from the last year or two and decided to hold back.

My male ’08 Sunglow Het Moonglow (produced by an ’01 Anery Het Snow female X ’00 DH Sunglow male). This breeding proved my Anery as a Het Snow and boy was I pumped to see those little white snakes born in that boa cage. I hope to breed this little guy to an ’06 Anery poss Het Snow female down the road some time.

Here’s a littermate to the sunglow above, my female ’08 Albino Het Snow. Believe it or not, she was the ONLY female albino or sunglow in the litter (Litter Stats – 29 babies: 2 sunglows, 5 albinos, 11 dh ghosts, 11 het anery). Very weird, but I decided to hold onto her for future breeding projects. I figured it doesn’t hurt to have a female albino het snow in the ranks.

Last but certainly not least, another one of my “pride & joys,” my ’07 female Paradox poss Super Sunglow. I produced this girl from a DH Sunglow X DH Sunglow pairing. She was definitely a nice surprise, and was obviously gonna stay put right here.

Here’s a close up. If you look closely, you can kind of see her different colored eyes: one is pink and the other is mostly black.

And a body shot.

That’s about it for now. Hope you all enjoyed the pics. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s new boa babies this year.

Best,

Jay

LOL...I figured you'd be a bit biased towards those two. They're doing great and growing up slow and steady.

Thanks,

Jay

That's the right way to do it. Mine have been on every other week feedings for months already. Looking healthy, always a strong feeding response, growing nice and solid as rocks!!!

That Paradox is definitely the coolest one out there and I'm glad the Jungles are doing well for you. They all look great!

Hey Kyle,

Yeah, that Paradox seems to be a big favorite with everyone, myself included. I'm going to redo the same DH Sunglow pairing this fall, so we'll see what happens.

Good luck to you, man. Hope to hear some goods news from you in a couple weeks

Talk to you later,

Jay
