The Highs and the lows......

rainbowsrus May 01, 2009 10:20 PM

After this mornings steller litter from Crystal, Jasmine is now dropping her litter three weeks early, all slugs and preemies. Don't think anything will survive. And that was one of my most anticipated litters - Sunglow Arabesques!!! She's still pushing them out as I type....

I feel your pain Dave. Earlier this year I was hoping for Motley het Sharp's but she dropped 2 weeks early and I got 26 pills. Since then I've had 5 litters. Keep your head up as I know you have other gravid females.

Thanks Derek, of course I'm dissapointed with the loss of this litter but I'm still stoked from this morning's litter and yeah, still got lots o' buns in the oven.

Jasmine is fine, total was 12 slugs and 6 pre-term, non viable babies.

Got it all cleaned up and fed mom a nice rat.

On the bright side, Sierra is tearing up her cage getting ready to drop and she's the other one that is due 05/03 like Crystal. :D

Thanks Larry, I'm OK with it, not happy

The way I look at it, it's all part of the challenge. If it were easy, the successes would not be as sweet!!

Ugh...so sorry to hear about Jasmine's litter, Dave. At least she's doing alright after the ordeal. We've all had the "lows." I'm expecting a "low" myself in a couple weeks, as my anticipated ghost poss het moonglow litter doesn't look so good. She's got that "I'm gonna slug out" look to her.

My sympathies, buddy. Good with the all the rest of your litters this month.

Thanks Jay, I'm already looking forward to the next litter.

I'm sorry to hear that dave. That almost happended to me last season. I caught my Hypo het Snow girl popping out a baby 3-4 weeks early or so. I was lucky and caught her a couple minutes or so after it happened. I immediatley "sprayed" her with cold water as to make her "tighten up". Luckily it worked...

Again...very sorry to hear that buddy-

Thanks Al, Sierra is cruising the cage, tearing everything up. Gave her a nest box and she settled down. Any day now for her!! And she's already full term so any babies in her should be fine.
