Hello! I'm new to Lampropeltis, but not to the hobby. A few days ago I wandered into a herp shop near me and found this little guy for an unbelievable price. The guy who breeds most of their snakes told me that he was left over from last year's stock and he is expecting a bunch more from the same parents shortly, hence the price cut.

So...I took him home and named him Frank.

I'm already smitten, though my hubby was less than thrilled about me showing up with another critter. I'm hoping to convince hubby that we need a couple of ladies for him next year.

Very appropriate name!

Sorry guys i coulnd't resist.

Just so the poster knows what i am talking about. A couple decades ago a guy named Frank Retes (FR on these forums) was a mass producer of these types of Cal kings.

Ha! I had no idea the name was so appropriate. I'm amused.
