She bit herself.

ceduke May 01, 2009 11:26 PM

My little hog got overly enthusiastic striking a mouse and bit herself. It took me 30 seconds or so to get her off of herself, and she has two small punctures.

I cleaned them with chlorhexidine once the bleeding stopped, and she seems fine. Is there anything else I should do? Should I take her off of sand and put her on paper towels for a few days?

Just a little dab of neosporin on the wounds and she will heal up just fine. They are some tough snakes. Don't worry about the biting thing as my girlfriend does that quit often herself when she misses her cheeseburger. I wish she had the curved hard nose that my hogs do as they act like a pry bar to get them off of themselves and I. Everytime I grab a hold of her schnoz like that. She really gets to squelling and flapping round. I need to rig up her helmet so she can only get the food in her mouth.
