Tubs for Hatchlings

Jody7454 May 02, 2009 01:50 AM

I'm planning on building a rack to hold baby ball pythons. I read that a 6 quart tub is a good size to use. I'm concerned that it might be difficult to maintain a temp gradient with a small size tub. I plan on heating from the bottom. I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks

I've been looking into buying/building a rack as well. It seems a lot of people use 12-15 quart tubs on baby balls just fine. This give them room to create a gradient and grow. If it is too big for them to be comfortable, provide a substrate they can bury themselves in and a hidebox.

Just an idea but you could always order just tubs from ARS caging or Freedom breeder. Or even use the tubs made by IRIS that resellers on kingsnake sell.
Good luck.
