Space to Breed?

Beardiekid14 May 24, 2003 06:37 PM

How much space do beardies need to breed? I am building a cage for one male and one female that will be 36" long 24" wide and 24 " high will this be big enough?

Thanks,
Adam Hallquist

That's way too small. I would have at least 60 X 24 X 24 for a pair, and even then I wouldn't house a male and female together.

if the soul purpose of the cage is to let the dragons breed, and them remove them into bigger cages (at least 4'x2'x2 for single dragon much larger for both if they are to be housed all the time, which isn't recommended as teh male will stress the female) then it's an ok size. However you can just as easily introduce the male and female on the floor, while supervising to make sure no fighting occurs or the male doesn't serious injury the female during mating.
