Rough and Snappy weekend...

daniel1983 May 03, 2009 12:02 PM

These pictures are from yesterday and this morning. I went out near the Honey Island Swamp here in Southeast Louisiana. Pretty decent finds for only driving the roads for bit each day. Just thought I would share.

Rough green...

Young snapping turtle...

A small cottonmouth...

A little gator..

I also spotted this toad last weekend a little further north. Interesting pattern. It was if a diagonal line was drawn across its body....half was patterned, half had no patten.

Daniel,
That snapper is a cool little guy! Must be cool to find greensnakes too. Nice pics

Dan,

I find Roughies frequently here in North/Central Texas but it is always cool to do it!

Yea, it must be cool. I'm going to head up to north eastern MT. this summer to look for smooth greens, I've never seen one so hopfully I'll find one/some.

Dan,

Yeah, a Smooth Green would also be a lifer for me. They occur in my state, but are very patchy in distribution.
