Help with ID?

Novice_Charmer May 04, 2009 05:43 PM

Good evening all! I am needing some help with the ID on my Boas.I've had all three of them for quite some time, two of them being rescues.Every time I show them to someone they ask why if they're all the same kind of snake why they look so different. It started me thinking that maybe they are from different regions or even countries.I was thinking that maybe if get some pics posted, you guys may give me a few ideas? I would appreciate any help.

They all look like BCI to me - most likely Colombian (common) Boas.

A single litter can throw many different looks. Some with more/less speckling , more or less colorful, or different saddle arrangements.

That's what I figured all along,I just couldn't account for the different colors/patterns.Also, the one in the first pic I've had for going on 3 years and even though she eats just as regular as the rest, she hasn't seemed to grow much at all.She is barely over 5' and only about 2" in diameter.Could she be full grown at this size? My other female is pushing 8' and twice as big around, just different genes I guess? I've only kept Boas for a few years,as opposed to having my Pythons for close to 13, so I don't know as much about them.
