Good and bad......

VFR May 04, 2009 05:48 PM

It seems like everyone has had both good and bad luck with their litters this year. On Sunday my MP line full striped salmon female gave me a pile full of slugs and 1 baby in which I don't think it will make it (first pic.). She was bred by a sharp sunglow so this one really hurt! The baby is still alive right now so, I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one. Now for the good news, I walked into my snake room about 2 hours ago and found my Ivory Ghost giving birth. The babies seemed to of pop out and start moving right away and even found some already starting to roam the tank. Mom is an Ivory Ghost from J. Hopkins and dad is a Jungle from Peter Kahl. There also seems to be a Ghost jungle in the litter but I don't know if it will make it. So far my count is 17, I'll post up final count later on. Here are a few from the litter what do you guys think (2nd and 3rd pics.).

Congrats!

CONGRATS! Looks like an awesome litter!

VFR May 05, 2009 07:25 PM

This girl was holding ALOT. She dropped 21 babies, 17 slugs and 3 stills. She definitely dropped some smokers and I'm pretty happy with the litter. Here are some pics. ALSO, she dropped me one surprise baby (the last pic.), what do you think?

fumanchu858 May 05, 2009 08:35 PM

Well if it is, Boa gods must be good to you.
That litter alone is amazing ,bonus aghost jungle with that!!!

Terrific jungle litter Angel, those are some real smokers! Great looking hypo jungle patterns too! You can send a couple over here if you want me to babysit them for you for a couple years.

I would say that last jungle that looks kinda like a ghost jungle is just an underdeveloped baby, a little premature. I've had premies and see other people's premies that have a very anery look, the pattern and body are developed but the last bit of color never finished coming in. (The ones I had born like that were either still born or died shortly after birth.) Just my opinion.

Sorry to hear about the slugs with your MP line (which are killer stipers) but at least momma looks good and can hopefully try, try again!

parade. J/K lol. I know what you mean about the premies and anery look. However there is no doubt in my mind that the boa is a ghost. I'll be posting a picture of a ghost vs a premie pic. BTW - the boa looks very healthy and crawling all over the place.

AbsoluteApril May 07, 2009 10:11 AM

j/k

Very cool to hear it's doing well! I couldn't tell from the pic. It's a very cool looking baby, crazy odds to get the ghost boa! Get some more pics up... or maybe I'll just have to see it in person. hee!
Have a great day!
