Is buying feeders in bulk worth it?

Langi Sep 12, 2003 11:09 PM

I am currently spending $300 a year on mice for my three snakes. If I order them online it'll be $150. Is ordering 3oo mice at once for only three snakes, two of which are only half grown, worth it? It'll take them a whole year to eat all these mice, will they last that long? Thank in advance for the help.

I did that. By the time my snakes went through them, the mice were getting a little old. Some had ice crystals and freezer burn. I through them out. I still saved money over the local pet store. Perhaps if you looked around, you could find a breeder near you that would let you pick up. The shipping is alot of the cost. Or perhaps you could split an order with someone.
I found it cheaper, more convienent, and more fun to keep a small colony for myself. Any leftovers go to a local rescue group to feed the adoptees.

Sorry, I forgot how big some of my PICs are.
