red blister on gecko's tail

moko May 06, 2009 03:19 PM

My sweet leopard gecko, Sunny D, has a red nasty looking ball or blister or something on her tail right at the base underneath. She also had a lot of trouble shedding off her feet this week. She is 3 years old. I have taken two other lizards to the vet over the years and ended up with a dead lizard each time to the tune of over one thousand dollars. Can any one tell me what might be wrong with my sweet Sunny D.

Either cloacal or hemipene prolaps, pretty much its the opposite of a hemorrhage, unfortunately both require vet care, stitches and meds. You can google both and see which your dealing with.
