Health of eggs?

Rosebuds May 06, 2009 04:56 PM

My first set of eggs are due to hatch sometime between next week and the week after. I labeled them may 11-25. About a week ago, one egg suddenly went concave, so I pulled it and it was obviously dried up inside. Now three are starting to dent, and 4 are still nice and round, and have obviously grown bigger. I added water with a dropper last night, and the verm around the eggs is good and damp, but the eggs are still dented. So, are these denting eggs likely bad or infertile?

Just leave them Donna, it's hard to say without seeing them, but some begin to dent before hatching, but yes, it can also mean the egg is bad.
This close it is difficult to determine as I said without seeing, so just leave them and assume they are alive until you see otherwise.

The little sneak made sure that I saw her poking her head out of a hole at one corner of the sand mound, so when I got home and saw her basking and noticeably thinner, I removed her, and started digging, in that corner first, of course. Well, she had laid them on the opposite side, in the same place that she laid before! LOL! Diversionary tactics?

They all still had pink showing, and all were starting to harden up, so I think they are all good!
