Off topic computer question...

poisonfrog420 May 24, 2003 06:51 PM

I have netscape 6.0 and am having a problem. I keep trying to bookmark the new forums and when I do it places the bookmark with the rest of them where it should be, but when I close the window and come back later it is just my old bookmarks. The problem is not just with this web page, I can not add any new book marks and it drives me crazy! Any one know how to fix this? Thanks, Jacob.

Do you have a cookie deletion program (Ad Killer) or in your setting are u allowing comp to delete cookies and temp files with each log off.

I checked my preferences and could not find any way to either have the comp delete the cookies or not. One thing I did find out though is that when I am done in my preferences window and click "OK" the window does not close I have to click cancel instead. Could this be a related problem? Sorry to come here and bug you guys, but I figure you all have computers and some one must be able to help me. Also, Netscape charges $40 to help with problems with their programs! Can you belive that $40!!! Any way, thanks for your help and if any one has more ideas, Let me know.

Check to make sure that your Bookmark file is not designated as 'Read Only'
To do this go the Netscape folder containing your bookmark.htm file and right click on it.
Select 'Properties' from the pop up menu and make sure that the 'Read Only' box is NOT checked
and that the 'Archive' box is checked.
