I posted a photo of the "Red Baron" a while back, but got a better photo after she shed. Only about 12" long but with all the bleepin' brown anoles running around my place this snake is having a feast!

Thanks! I just keep Easterns now, so I wouldn't have bagged this one, but the color was awesome, and the site will be blitzed for development this summer (I went to the site because I work for a company that's involved). So I figured no reason to let the little one get killed.
It's neat how different the ones CrimsonKing had from the Panhandle (I grew up in P'Cola) - from Tallahassee westward I've seen the sharp white color, which I like too.
I do have a question. This female is about 12" long. Do you think these are her adult colors? My guess is that she's going into her 3rd year? Any guesses? I hope she keeps that apricot color becuase I don't see that type of yellow/orange much on SK.
I don't usually keep SKs, but she's doing great and loving bushwacking brown anoles. LOL

Well the ones I posted are from the eastern edge of the panhandle. The adult actually has much more yellowish color than is represented in the photo. Actulally sort of a "3-toned" white/cream/yellow from top to sides.
Most times they will darken up to the color rather than lighten up to white. Nearly all hatch out w/ white rings that may or may not color up as they mature.
The apricots I have found were from your area through the State and south. Mostly central FL and south. Just about anywhere might pop up that look.
Most that tend toward a lemon yellow or pastel yellow are from central FL and south but many varieties can be found throughout their range from my experiences.
Northern scarlet king locales seem to produce more snakes with whiter bands as adults.
Here's a north central FL beauty

and a west central FL one

and one from just south of me...

Surrender Dorothy!
Mark,
Smokin' photos!
Thanks for the info. When I lived in Tallahassee people were forever bringing me SKs they found (mostly from Wakulla & northern Leon Cos.). I never kept them because I had so many Easterns & Floridas to take care of, and I got tired of catching anoles or trying to scent pinkies!
This little one is adapting quite well, has awesome colors (SKs are one of the more beautiful snakes anyway), and I have SO many of those bastard brown anoles that she'll stay well fed. I will try her with pinks too.
