I have a couple questions about my veiled. When I got him, he had an infected eye, that was swollen and shut. I went to the vet and got some antibiotics for it. His eye is much better now, open and active, but I am not so sure he can see with it anymore. He may be able to see with it because he seems to look at me with it. The reason why I dont think he can see with it is because when I come at him from his left side(the side his bad eye is on) he does not seem to notice me. If there is a bug on his left side, he does not notice it, but as soom it is on his right side, he goes right for it.The reason why I have told you all this was to introduce you to my problem; I have had to feed him by hand (actually be hemostat) ever since I got him. I dont mean I put a bug in front of him and he catches it with his tongue; I mean when I put a bug in front of him, his tongue comes out a bit, and a stick the bug to it. He has tried to eat on his own, but he has been unsuccessful. He focuses his eyes on the food item, shoots his tongue out and misses the bug. He tries this a few times, and then I just end up giving the bug to him. He comes close sometimes, but that is still missing. On bigger food items, like flowers, he is fine. Should I just give him bigger food items? Do you think his depth perception is off, or do you think he is blind in his left eye? I dont really mind hand feeding him, but is there a way I can feed him that is not so time consuming? I have a food jar, but he does not seem to be able to get food out of it. Thnk you for your help, jrbl
P.S. Sorry for the long post.
