ALBINO MOTLEY-BESQUES!!!!!! DUW

NUCCIZ_BOAS May 07, 2009 02:41 PM

Today is day 110 POS, and figure my luck over the last 2 months, the entire litter is STILLBORN! I think im gonna be sick! I bred an arabesque het albino to an albino motley, and the odds were in my favor.

5 albino motley-besques
1 albino motley
3 albino arabesques
1 arabesque het albino
4 motleys het albino
4 normal
1 slug

The albino motley-besques are kinda hard to tell apart, but if you look closely in this first pic, you can see the difference. Even as bad as my camera sucks.
On top you have what woulda turned out to be a KILLER looking motley het albino
below that is an albino arabesque
3rd is the albino motley-besque, the colors seem to blend in more so than the albino motley below it. Then as Mark Hauge's litter showed us 2 years ago, the colors come out with age

Just look at the striping on the sides of these.... I want to cry!

look at the stripe on the side of this motley in this next pic.... all the way down, head to tail....

Your female is OK and will breed again for you next season. You could have lost her as well. Sucks nonetheless, I DO feel for you.....Damn...Albino Motley-Besques, I think that's a first.

Stay positive!

yes, she is ok, had trouble pushing out 1 last slug, took her about 40 mins, but i think she is done now. She lost a lot of weight obviously, but hopefully she puts it on and will breed late in the season, if not no big deal, my males have plenty of girls coming up this season. I may not even have a male available for the female this year. It still hit where it hurts though.

This wouldve been the second time albino motley-besques have been produced. Atleast second to my knowledge. Mark Hauge did it in 2007. The father of this litter, the albino motley, was a sibling in that litter. I believe there is still only 2 albino motley-besques in existence right now, unless somebody else produced any and i dont know about? They look incredible too as adults, completely coralled out

I'm soo sorry ,I wonder what the heck happened !?!

I don't know how to tell you to dig down deep to get through it.
At least you know mom is ok and will go again.

so am I. Im stunned. especially looking at the yolk-bellies they all seem to have, what is that about

Pithons May 07, 2009 04:38 PM

I recently lost one of Mark Hauge's 2007 albino mot arebesque female that was already 5ft and tons of coral. Mark is a very stand up guy and since it was a newer purchase, he gave me a full refund. Still sad cause I planned on breeding her to a hypo mot het lipstick mot male. I do still have an albino motley female sibling from Mark Hauge's 07 litter that is producing more and more coral each day. Still not as colorfull as the albino mot areb but catching up. She will get to breed the hypo mot het. I do feel your pain man. But if you look at it this way. I assume mom is still doing fine and so isnt dad. So you really didnt 'loose' anything. Take it as a leaning experiance and if you can pinpoint on what may have caused the still borns, then you can learn from what may have caused the still borns. Good luck with your other litters and better luck next year.

NUCCIZ_BOAS May 07, 2009 04:40 PM

one of the albino mot-arabs died? that means theres only 1 left then..... The albino motley that was the father of this litter was out of that same litter in 2007, so its a sibling to yours. Yes, both of the parents are doing fine, its just a shame. waited all season, was super excited seeing how fat she was, then this. heartbroken...... I'll try it again next year, i have some REALLY exciting litters next year, hopefully ill be more lucky next time around

Pithons May 07, 2009 05:25 PM

yes, she is dead..

Pithons May 07, 2009 05:59 PM

Didnt you buy a hypo mot het lipstick from shanne? If so they you almost bought my female albino about 9 months ago.. Am I correct?

NUCCIZ_BOAS May 07, 2009 06:41 PM

yes i did buy one from shane, hes already pushing breeding size. looks incredible too. Which female albino are you referring to?

Pithons May 07, 2009 07:01 PM

The albino motely that , after finding out today, is the female sibling from your male albino mot. Funny too, I also have a male sibling from shane, the hypo mot het lipstick. Small world I guess. Kinda

We are all very sorry to hear about your loss.

Breeding boas can be such an emotional roller coaster ride.

Best of luck with the rest of your season.

so sorry to hear about this. I was thinking maybe she held onto them too long and they died 'inutero' but with the big yolk bellies, I don't know what to think. So very sad but at least you see the potential and can try again either next year or the year after.
