Finally VPI. X Jungle Litter

LarM May 07, 2009 03:46 PM

So @ 8:29 pm Central 5-6-09 at day 129 past the Ovulation and day 108 from her POS
Carmella my VPI Het Caramel '04 fem finally dropped her litter.
She was paired with my '07 Jungle Arturo ,Het Kahl ,Het stripe
I don't have a complete final count somewhere between
14 - 22 babies. I thought I counted 22 babies coming out,but I was so spastically happy I probably counted several twice ,LOL
I left them in with mom and everybody is just
hanging out taking it easy chill'n,they are happy she is happy.
Carmella is way Kool I can reach in take a baby out look it over take a picture
whatever put it back and grab another and she watches but knows
I'm not gonna hurt her kids. I see a few obvious Jungles I don't
believe the Jungle count is real high maybe several very low expressions.

Mom - Carmella '04 Het VPI Caramel

Dad - Arturo '07 Jungle Het Kahl Het Stripe produced by Jeremy Stone

I made the decision to leave all the babies in with Mom for a while day or two maybe.
She's been so good ,I thought it to be a reward for her.
She lets me reach in and take a baby out then put it back in
She is quite a bit sweeter about it then I anticipated.
She acts like she's done this before She knows where
each baby is and positions her body to accommodate.
My mind could change when I feed Carmella a rat soon, while sweet
I don't want any stupid mis haps ,had enough of those.

Thanks Tracy for everything, you are the best
and that other Boaphile guy too , LOL

Thanks for testing for Kahl and VPI T pos. compatibilities. I always wondered if they would produce a Paradigmish Boa. There are some nice Jungles in there. Congrats!

LarM May 07, 2009 04:26 PM

Thanks Kyle, Exactly this proves that VPI Caramel Boas are definitely a
distinct characteristic unlike any other.
I already knew that , LOL , Ha , Ha ,

Is either of those Jungles a male? That would be cool to prove one out, in say......18 months or so! Just think a VPI T positive Jungle litter!!! ahhhh, as you day dream thinking about it!

Congrats

Chaz

LarM May 08, 2009 07:33 PM

I've seriously day Dreamed ,night dreamed and thought about that exact out come.
Although I will probably go the longer route and out breed.
Isn't this fun!?!!

What an awesome litter Lar, Big Congrats! That is really neat that mom would let you take babies out and be so calm about it. I love those last 3 pics where she is just hanging out with the kids, you can tell she is being very deliberate where she sits. And the sire Arturo is a great looking jungle. You got some terrific kiddies in this litter, that stripe is to die for but this one just really stands out to me:

Congrats again!

LarM May 08, 2009 12:50 PM

Thankyou for the kind words April. You can definitely see how deliberate mom really is .
In that pic her tail is supporting her body so as not to put any pressure on any little one.
I've still got them in there because the interaction between
mother and kids is amazing for me to watch.
This was the perfect fem to do this with, it just makes me giggle to look at
those little squigglers with Mommy,LOL.
That pretty Jungle she was the first one out , the first two out
were both Jungles.
Then no apparent Jungles until the Stripe Jungle, and finally
the pile became too confusing.
I even over counted how many total babies were coming out.
I can't wait to see what that bright one looks like after shed.
She posed for a great little picture there I think.

It really is a treat to be able to see those types of interactions first hand! Esp. since it's not something that happens all the time. I swear, my girls can tell before I come in once they've had babies, I hear the hissing before I open the door. lol

>>She posed for a great little picture there I think.

She sure did and I bet she's a screamer and dripping with color, it just seems to bleed through already. Looking forward to those post-shed pics.
Enjoy it up on Cloud 9!
