Aid one egg 3 days ago.

Wallbanger26 May 08, 2009 02:27 AM

And it was a roll out. It's obvious she is full of eggs. I haven't kept on top of my breedings due to family issues and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. When a girl lays 1 or 2 eggs then DAYS later lays the rest. Should I worry? She doesn't look bad.

Thanks

I haven't personally had experience before, but I believe I remember hearing somewhere that, on occasion, a female will pass a bad egg or slugs a few days before the rest of her clutch.

The first one will go bad.

I have heard of this happening when they don't have anywhere acceptable to lay . . . Like moist moss or something.

I think it happens when they are so full they can't hold them in.

I have had colubrids lay duds early...and a few times late...but never a ball...they always have laid all egsg at one time...duds included.....today even I got a 10 clutch with three being duds...sucks....she lays 12 usually....but anyways....she had all and wrapped all....and as for not a good place....mine just lay them on bare floor, they push anything out of the way at the spot they want to lay, they go by temps......never had one complain about the substrate or not having a nest...

.....keep an eye on her.......

.......they said the first will go bad...either that or the first will be the good one and the rest will go bad.....eggs laid outside normal clutch times will usually be bad...late or early.....maybe this is the on time one? and she had troubles??? check her for blood or leakage (usually won't show)...leave her alone for awhile....

good luck
