Hypo-E Mexmex

jlassiter May 08, 2009 10:46 PM

Got this pair from Shannon Brown last year.
Both looked normal in coloration as hatchlings.
Now...The male is definitely Hypo-E.
The female is rather unique as well.

Thanks Shannon!

It's entirely possible....I have a line of zonata agalma that throw full visual hypo-e offspring and then there are some that begin normal in appearance and over time go through such a dramatic change as in thius example below. Hatched this girl out in 2007, and then a photo in 2008 where she is more faded orange-pink, and she just shed two days ago and is pinkish.

Keep up the work with them and show us the babies if and when the time comes please.

It is interesting Jerry about these Mexmex....Even the dark/black phase mexmex look normal as hatchlings then progressively darken with age.

I have noticed too that male Mexmex are almost always nicer looking than females......I have noticed this in Ruthveni as well.....

I am not stating fact just honest personal opinions.....

I don't think he is definitely Hypo-E until further breeding take place in the future....but by definition he sure does look to be.
And he is from 'Hypo-E' looking parents.....
