question about BP health

kevindaz Sep 13, 2003 01:44 AM

I am a new parent to a wonderful BP. Over the last couple of weeks that I have had her she has pooped a couple of times and thesee times the poop has been dry, white, and chalky. This week however, in addition to the dry white poop she has pooped a black wet mass.

Her eyes have become fogged up so I know that she will be shedding soon.

She ate two fuzzy rats a week ago.

Just wondering if this is normal.

Also, if she is shedding will she eat or should I wait to feed her until after she is done shedding?

Thanks
Kevin

Sorry if this is wrong but I'm pretty sure that the white chalky substance is urine and the black mass is the fecal matter. Also from what I heard you should wait until they are done shedding to feed them. But with the shedding and eating you should probably ask someone else about or search it on the web. There are many good (and some bad) sites out there that could tell you.

I think you are right. I do not attempt to feed during a shed cycle. I have found that most snakes refuse to eat during this period anyway.
