What A Way To Kick Off The 09 Season

fgs May 09, 2009 12:32 AM

My fist clutch of the year will be hard to beat. My good friend Chris Simoni called me up a few months and asked if I would try to prove out one of his possible het pied females.
I bred a het male to his poss het female and produced 2 beautiful male pieds.
The really exciting thing is that these are the first pieds either Chris or I have ever produced.
These photos were taken seconds after they hatched out.

I hope everyone is having a great season.

Possible hets to produce two pieds will be very hard to beat!! Way to go ...I got a set of 100% het pieds due to lay in a couple of weeks ....so Im still 10 weeks out..time goes sooo slow this time of the year...

Actually the male was a proven het. The only egg his mate produced last year didn't hatch. When I did slit the 70 day old egg it had a half grown baby pied inside.

Thanks Alice.

Pieds are the reason I got into breeding ball pythons in the first place. It's exciting to finally produce a few.

It's such a nice morning here in the Bay Area I thought I would try my luck with some out door shots of the pieds. I took this shot of the low white pied just a few minutes ago.

Brian,

Congrats and another pos het pays off. They are both beautiful. A high white one to boot. I produced a female high white pied last year and was quite excited as well. It was the first time I ever bred ball pythons as well. Het to het breeding and only produced one pied out of eight eggs. Once again congrats!!!!
