I am going to guess not. A confirmed super has not been made and would have to suspect that a super would be much more extreme. I could be wrong. Great Calico however!!!

Hey Bill,
Perhaps you are right....maybe it has not yet been confirmed as a true super (via breeding results)...
But I think Morton Wright produced a Super Calico a little while back. As I recall, he may have even posted photos of it here?
Anyway, I wish you the best on all your projects. Take care Bill.
And Mark, Super or Not... that is a very nice looking snake!

Harlan -- Thanks for the project well-wishes -- same back at you!!! Clutches are finally beginning to roll here!!
I remember Morton putting that reduced/aberrant animal up for sale as a "possible super". I am truly going by what I have seen, and am doing no Calico X Calico breedings this season -- so will have to see what others are doing.
Calicos have shown themselves to be fairly variable. Could be that Morton's animal was a super. Some supers are not EXTREME when compared from the base morph -- Enchi comes to mind. Clearly, more breedings will need to be done to know for sure.
Again Mark, NICE animal!!!

Bill, I spoke with Morton about that snake he made. The one thing that sticks in my mind was his comment about it having alot less black and alot more brown than a calico normally has. That being said the one Mark is posting here does seem to have alot less black than a normal calico has . I think I remember Morton also saying that it isn't so much a change in the amount of white displayed but the overall color difference or should I say background color difference that he noticed. In other words the Super Calico wouldn't necessarily be a high white sided animal but instead just be a lighter tone. I agree more clutches are needed to be sure but I think Morton has worked with that gene long enough to be able to say when he sees something different (meaning I think the Super form is what he actually made even if it is more subtle than we had hoped for)...
Good luck with this one Mark. I personally think you may be onto something there myself, the color is way off to me on this one!

Anthony,
I defer to Morton of course. Sounds as though Morton's theory of muted/lighter color rather than exrtreme pattern change would be similar to the Pastel/Super Pastel comparison.
I think most of us would have been shocked if the Calico would have proven "only dominant". I also felt that most breeders, who have WAY MORE experience than I, expected that super to be wild rather than subtle. Just goes to show that Ball morphs will not have anything to do with being figured out by the likes of we LOWLY HOMO SAPIENS !!! GOOD STUFF!!!

Like I said.... this is the original, I didnt make him myself.. and he doesnt photo well.. but hes very light on the high parts of his shape and resembles the chacteristics of a super either way hes got a nice life ahead of him. I will get some better shots when I got some help.... thanks mark sisco

Thanks Bill.... This is he to which you speak of.. and he has a sister too ...the rest of the clutch were dark normal looking calicos I hope to prove him out next season. He should be able to go before his sister is ready so we'll see. Either way he got some really neat pairings lined up for him thanks. mark sisco
Harlin this is the snake to which you speak of....
Super or not he looks hot!

Mark you are getting the same responses we talked about. The differences could be subtle as in the pastel and super pastel. The lack of black pigment is my guess also.Good luck ! Terry
