AMAZING Frogs!!!

ellasmommie Sep 13, 2003 02:40 AM

As some of you know, I have a brood of Cuban tree frog babies. They are a little over a month old now and growing quite fast. Just how fast you ask? Well this morning I heard a couple of them calling!!! Then this evening I find that one of the callers has nuptual pads!!!!!! They are only a month old!!! No wonder Cubans are taking over Florida!!!
How amazing is that???!!!

So far that one's the only out of the group to show nup pads. There are a couple others that have developed the bright yellow along their sides and thighs, and the spot on their thumbs where the nup pads would be is very slightly darker but not developed yet. I had no idea that a frog could develope this quickly. I'm wondering if he would actually be able to breed or if it's just a sort of "practice" thing. I'm not going to find out LOL All of the babies that are showing sighs of being male are being moved to a separate tank until they are placed in new homes or taken to a local herp shop.

Where do you live again? If you can't find one near you I can ship to you. A 2 lb box is only $17.85 to most states. It looks like I have quite a few males and with some pretty wonderful patterns!
