Freezing rats

RainbowBright May 10, 2009 01:53 AM

I usually feed my snakes pre killed rats but I'm thinking about switching to f/t because I like the idea that freezing can kill any parasites that may be present. My question to you is do you need a special freezer to freeze them faster or is an ordinary freezer alright?

Regular freezer is fine, just make sure you freeze before packaging...

I use a gas camber and CO2 to kill mine, then lay them orderly on tray, freeze 24hrs and package by size.
