Hi

I'm new to the forum. I'm interested in getting collared lizards. I haven't gotten any yet. I haven't been able to find any information on them. The only thing I have read is that they require an arid environment with basking temps around the 115 degrees range and that they're omnivores.

What size enclosure would be good for them? Are they social? How many should be kept? What should their diet be primarily made of? I'd be starting with captive bred babies.

A 35 gallon long is a good size cage for a CB pair & maybe a trio. You can keep them in groups as long as there's only one male. Two males in the same tank will fight. Their diet is mostly crickets with mealworms, superworms, wax worms, & the occassional pinkie on the side. Some collareds will eat fruits & what not, some won't. If you have any other questions, just ask. = ) Welcome to the forum. Kristin
